Museum Ship "The Gift of Pomerania" in Gdynia, Poland

Inside the Museum

Today I want to show you a little tour of a Polish old sailing ship I was lucky to visit when we made a quick trip to a port town, Gdynia.

The ship is called "Dar Pomorza" which means "The Gift of Pomerania", and it was a training merchant ship for the students of the Maritime School from the 1930s to the 1980s. During those years this ship traveled a lot and visited many countries including the USA, Brazil, Australia, and India. It is now a floating museum with an exhibition about its history.

There are a lot of spaces and different rooms inside the ship: commander’s room, dining room, recreational room, engine room, and many other small rooms. It was really great to walk around and see how sailors lived onboard. This ship is over 100 years old and it is still in perfect condition and looks magnificent. Exploring each room you feel as if you really got in the past.

I absolutely LOVE history and sometimes I tend to romanticize almost every time period in history. That's why my visit to this museum made me feel marvelous! And I hope you enjoyed this place as well.
